In a world of synthetic things, it is important to remember our natural environment. Each aspect of the earth including the intricate details of texture, color, and shape surround us. It is this basic bit of nature, which is always present in the human experience that I wish to communicate to my viewers.
   My purpose is to help each person who views my work notice nature and its beauty wherever they are. To accomplish this I immerse myself in nature, collecting items and becoming inspired by rustic settings. I use tools such as fabric, paper, wood and thread among others to present actual nature objects for viewing.
   I believe nature speaks to us all on a very basic level and this is what I am tapping into. It is my ultimate hope to create a life long conversation between each viewer and their natural environment, resulting in an understanding and appreciation that will carry on indefinitely.
